My name is Joep Schuringa. I am 28 years old and I live next to the Noorderplantsoen park in Groningen with my beautiful girlfriend Sylvana. I have a Bachelor's degree in social work and I studied sociology in Groningen for a year as well. After that I worked in the United States for thirteen months in a residential program for young people with severe behavorial problems and now I have a fulltime job as a youth worker in Groningen.
After working hours I play basketball in the highest regional level in the north of the Netherlands and I coach a women's team on the same level. I really am a sports fanatic and I go to the gym a lot.
I am really looking forward to walking the Appalachian Trail for WSPA with my two brothers. I've already climbed Mount Washington and Mount Katahdin and I can't wait to climb more mountains along the trail. Now it's time for the real test for a great charity: as much support as possible for WSPA and the Idaho Black Bear Rehabilitation Center!
